I heat this pan up with a wee bit of olive oil in it until it is good an hot (just before smoking). When both sides of the meat are seared, turn down the heat a wee bit and finish cooking. Wouldn't want the steaks to burn! In the meantime throw some salt and pepper on your steaks. (Round steaks work well for this)
Place the steaks in the pan and let them brown nicely on both sides. While the meat browns you can chop up some bell-pepper and grate some cheese of your liking. When the steak is done place it in your food processor and shred it!
You can spice it up with some cayenne pepper, if you like it spicy... my son and I don't, my husband and daughter do, so we make two portions...
Stir it up with the bell-pepper and the cheese. You can sautee some onions if you like (I like) in the same pan you just made the meat in.
Get your hogie bun ready with some mayonnaise and mustard and plop on a helping of the meat mixture. I suppose you could toast the bun slightly... I don't like toasted bread that much... Drape (yes... artfully) the onions over the meat. Serve some Greek style olives on the side and maybe a nice salad... presto! Cheese steak a'la spin. :)
